HOW IT’S BUILT

Every Forty Collection truck is a full frame-off re-engineering. Vintage body, modern drivetrain, hand-finished by our own crews.

01 The Chassis

Built from Steel, Not Adapted from a Donor.

Rolling 40, our own fabrication shop, builds custom chassis and fully independent suspension in-house for our Bronco and Defender builds. Not a restored OEM frame. Not a strengthened factory unit. A new frame engineered for modern power, independent ride quality, and loads the original trucks were never designed to carry.

What this stage takes In-House Fabrication. Frame, crossmembers, suspension mounts, independent front suspension, performance shocks, brake hardlines.

The Body

Donor Body, Restored to the Original Lines.

A donor body is sourced, stripped, blocked, and finished. We keep the original sheet metal whenever possible. Where the original is too far gone, we use NOS or hand-formed panels that match the factory tolerances. The proportions, gaps, and crown lines are the ones the factory intended.

What this stage takes Bare Metal to Paint. Strip, sandblast, repair, block. Single-stage paint. Custom mix to a vintage sample. Heavy clear flat. The body lives off the chassis until paint is fully cured.

03 The Finish

Drivetrain, Interior, Hardware, Wiring.

Drivetrain by collection. FJ: Toyota 1GR-FE V6, or the original 2F inline-six kept period-correct. Bronco: Ford Godzilla 7.3 or Coyote 5.0 V8, 460 to 480 horsepower, 10-speed automatic. Defender: OM606 turbo-diesel, five-speed manual. Wilwood or AP Racing brakes depending on the build.

What this stage takes
Drivetrain and Trim. Drivetrain assembly. Wiring harness fabricated in-house. Interior trimmed by hand. Every screw, fastener, and clip catalogued.

The Delivery

Shakedown, Then a Hand-Off.

Before the keys go in your hand, the build lead drives the truck. Brakes break in. Suspension settles. Anything that needs adjustment gets adjusted. Final inspection happens in our Fort Lauderdale shop. We deliver in person if you’re local. We crate and ship anywhere in the continental US if you’re not.

Shakedown and Hand-Off. Shakedown miles. Punch-list adjustments. Detailing. Delivery scheduled.
