Built for the Long Drive at Dusk.

The Desert Tan is a 1974 FJ40 we sourced out of west Texas. Body had been restored, mechanicals had not. We kept the body and threw away everything else. New Rolling 40 chassis. Fresh 5.3L LS V8. 4L60E automatic. Coilover suspension front and rear.

The exterior is a single-stage desert tan with a heavy clear flat, custom-mixed against a vintage TLC sample. The interior is saddle leather, hand-stitched, paired with body-color dash and modern Dakota Digital instrumentation that reads like the original gauges from ten feet away.

The Desert Sand is an FJ43 kept close to original where it counts. The proven Toyota 2F 4.2 liter inline six and a 4-speed manual, period-correct and honest. A single-stage desert finish with a heavy clear, hand-stitched Relicate leather inside, and the modern comfort you actually want on a long drive. It looks like a classic because most of it is. Vintage proportion, original drivetrain, Florida light.
